Recycle your Fashion!
According to a 2009 study from the European Society for Ecological Economics, “clothing accounts for as much as 11% of a household’s carbon footprint.” -LATimes.com
Almost 9 million tons of clothes and shoes are dumped as municipal waste each year. That is a lot of clothes!
The MINT is putting out a calling to all designers, fashion students, knitters, jewelry makers, cobblers, and anyone else who works with textiles to come to our store and browse our wares.
Here at The MINT, we believe those clothes have a second, third, or even fourth life still in them!
See an old jacket that you might be able to revive into a designer quality purse or wallet? A sweater that can be turned into a shrug or felted into a design? A faded rock concert t-shirt that would be absolutely adorable on your dog? Pitch your idea to Marie, and you might just walk home with free material for your latest fashion project. We would love to get a group of like-minded creators together, perhaps as a club and have regularly scheduled fashion challenges.
We only ask that you document the process and show us your awesome pictures on how you turned a pumpkin into a hot Cinderella fashion item!
If you choose, we will also help market your revamped creations right here at The MINT Fashion Exchange. Showcase your latest creations at our store and earn a mint or two while help spreading awareness for refashioned clothing!
Please leave a message with Marie for more details.
