Welcome to THE MINT, where consigning is easy, economical and environmentally friendly. The following is a guide to help you select items that do well in our shop and how to bring items in for our selection process. (By appointment)
We are looking for upper department store brands (Macy’s, Nordstrom’s, Nieman Marcus), boutique and couture items purchased within the last 2 years and/or distinctive vintage from the 1930’s -1970’s in “MINT” condition. When considering vintage think styles that could be incorporated into current wardrobe and in-line with current trends. Keep in mind that we make our selections based on condition, season, inventory levels, brand-name, current styles and trends, sustainable fibers and uniqueness.
All prospective consignors must be at least 18 years of age and make an appointment before bringing in items for resale to THE MINT.
We do not accept walk-ins. Please call 805-526-MINT to schedule an appointment. Please limit your visits to your best 20 items per appointment.
All items must be freshly laundered or dry cleaned, pressed, and polished, ready to sell, i.e. “MINT” condition for your appointment. (This includes shoes and jewelry). If an item has been hanging in the closet for a long time it may be clean but it is not fresh. Also, if you are a smoker, that will affect freshness. Please keep this in mind as it will affect their being selected and sale price.
Items must be on hangers or neatly folded in a laundry basket. We will not accept clothing in a plastic bag, nor will we consider damaged, stained, wrinkled or overly worn or faded clothing unless it is part of the original design of the garment. We do not accept counterfeit or replica items, so please do not bring them in.
Please remember this is a business and think of what will sell when making your selections of what to bring. It doesn’t benefit either party to take items that do not fit our clients’ desires or expectations.
THE MINT fashion exchange accepts the following for resale year round:
- Jewelry
- Designer leather and Canvas Handbags (Coach, Brighton, Bally, Louis Vuitton, Chanel, Dooney & Bourke, Fendi, Hermes’,etc)
- Designer Denim (True Religion, Hudson, Paige, Citizens, 7 for all Mankind, etc)
- Cowboy Boots (leather)
- Belts
Clothing within the following range of sizes:
For Men:
- Pants: 28-42
- Shirts: XS-XXL
- Shoes: 7-13
For Women: (juniors sizes are odd numbered)
- Pants: 00-20
- Shirts: XS-XXL
- Shoes: 5-11
We do not consider:
- Wedding dresses or wedding party attire
- Swimsuits
- Undergarments
- Socks
- Counterfeit or replica items including handbags
We rarely consider:
- Business suits
- Formal wear (full-length)
All items are consigned (split of proceeds after items sell) 50% for store credit, 40% for payout. Please call for balance payouts to be sure an authorized person is available. Checks may also be mailed by request.
